Idevio and Ericsson brings streaming maps to Android

Idevio, a leading provider of map components for web, mobile and embedded systems today announces the release of an Android version of their versatile map visualization and navigation component, the RaveGeo MapClient.

The component that enables streaming maps on Android was developed together with Ericsson Research.The new product brings streaming maps to Android devices, a platform where developers previously primarily had to cope with traditional image based map providers, resulting in slow applications and massive waste of bandwidth.

Idevio also offers streaming maps for use in web application and other environments. The Android version was developed in close cooperation with Ericsson Research.
